Product Information

Current drugs and therapies are marginally effective for the 200 million annual soft tissue injuries in the U.S. due to:

  • Medical Surgeries
  • Chronic Wounds
  • Oral Surgeries
  • Sprains and Strains
  • Lower Back Pain
  • Chronic Repetitive Stress Injuries, Heel Pain, Carpal Tunnel, Bursitis, etc.

Restoration of tissue injuries is a major factor in health care costs and days lost from work. Physicians and patients are actively seeking alternatives to traditional drug therapies.

Typical Office Based Machine

ActiPatch Therapy

This therapy is:

  • Expensive and time consuming therapy
  • Used extensively world wide
  • Requires 15-30 minute treatments daily
  • Requires a technician

This therapy is:

  • Continuous 24 hour therapy
  • Focuses directly on the injured cells
  • Convenient and home-based
  • Small, light and portable
  • Easy to use
  • Improves patient compliance
  • Dramatically lowers the cost of therapy

The body's natural response to soft tissue trauma is a localized inflammatory reaction. This occurs following a variety of insults such as surgery, lacerations of the skin and soft tissues, sprains and strains (including those of the low back), and repetitive stress injuries such as plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow and the like. This inflammatory response, which has a physiologic protective action, in fact creates an environment in which the healing process is actually prolonged or stalled in chronic wounds.

ActiPatch Therapy truncates the body's inflammatory response or breaks the cycle of chronic inflammation.

The inflammatory response creates unnecessary cost in :

  • Delayed healing
  • Added hospital recovery days
  • Days lost from work
  • Additional office visits, drug therapy and other treatment costs and,
  • Other expensive office based therapies and surgical procedures.

Injured Tissue

  • The body reacts to injury to prevent infection
  • The visible signs are redness and swelling. There is a feeling of heat and pain.
  • The inflammatory process consists of reduced cell-cell contact to prevent the transmission of infection. This prolongs the tissue repair phase.

Restored Healthy Tissue

  • ActiPatch's induced current re-establishes cell to cell contact.
  • ActiPatch suppresses the vasodilatory response.
  • Tissue rapidly passes through the inflammatory process and moves into the tissue repair mode.

When soft tissue is damaged the cells separate to prevent the transmission of infection. The cells leak fluid and cellular components break down while the cellular debris causes inflammation, swelling and pain. ActiPatch stabilizes the leaking cell membranes by, in effect, recharging the membrane. The pulsed energy delivered by ActiPatch drives out the edematous fluid along with the by products of the damaged tissue.

ActiPatch causes a reduction in the swelling (edema) and inflammation that occurs after tissue injury - a true and beneficial acceleration in the inflammatory process which occurs in virtually all wounds and tissue injuries, and an integral component of normal healing.

These mechanisms provide an environment in which cell to cell communication is re-established in the area of the injured tissue. This provides a well demonstrated and significant overall improvement in the restorative and recovery process following injury. As a result of these changes a decrease in the pain associated with soft tissue injury often occurs.
